Year 2020 – the year of the Pandemic. A year full of uncertainty when we were shrouded with fears – fear of losing customers, fear of losing income, fear of losing our health and our very lives.

But we at Bedford Square tried to find innovative ways to keep our people safe and motivated. We hired extra office space to ensure social distancing and safety norms before bringing back staff to work at the respective office locations.

In June 2020, we enrolled 10 staff members including the Director – HR and Compliance in the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) Professional Course, fully sponsored by the Company. Amidst the grey of the COVID, we tried to create our own silver lining.

We struggled, fought hard and succeeded in convincing the AAT to establish an AAT Exam Centre for the very first time in Chennai. While battling COVID, we also maintained high spirits and prepared earnestly for our AAT Exams. We auctioned computers and monitors to help our staff prepare for the exams in the safety of their homes. Later, we waived off the buying price as a surprise to all the staff members who had purchased the computers.

Bedford Square is the first approved AAT Employer in India. We are now proud members of the AAT Employer Scheme.

We began the Year 2021 with a positive step forward with all the 10 staff having completed their first set of two AAT exams.

We are hopeful that we will pass with flying colors and look forward to our journey to a better, safe and happy future.
